>Today I found a blog called “Red Thread Studio: Slow Cloth, New Cloth, Art Cloth” by Elaine Lipson. I am a supporter of preserving global textile traditions and of sustainable textiles and fashions. I am also a big fan of art cloth. There is a posting on her blog dealing with ideas in texiles that are fascinating to me. This posting defines “slow cloth”, which speaks of global textile traditions, and “new cloth”, which speaks of sustainability for this century and beyond, and “art cloth”, which speaks of traditional textile techniques used in innovative ways.
